Overview
Bathers Beach is an unusual urban anchorage located directly west of the Fremantle Esplanade. While not a traditional overnight stop, it’s a great spot to pause in calm conditions and enjoy a swim with a view of the city.
With cafés, bars and the Fishing Boat Harbour nearby, it’s a fun daytime visit.
Anchorage
- Depth: 5–8m
- Bottom: Sand
- Protection: Good only in light easterlies
- Hazards: Boat traffic, shallow patches, and exposed to the seabreeze
The seabreeze typically makes this anchorage uncomfortable by mid-afternoon.
Things to Do
- Swim ashore and grab fish & chips
- Visit Little Creatures or Bathers Beach House
- Watch the harbour traffic entering and leaving Fremantle Port
Notes for Cruisers
This is a daytime only anchorage and not recommended for overnight stays. Swell and chop build quickly. Perfect for a short visit when conditions are calm.
