Bathers Beach, Fremantle

Fremantle, Western Australia

Overview

Bathers Beach is an unusual urban anchorage located directly west of the Fremantle Esplanade. While not a traditional overnight stop, it’s a great spot to pause in calm conditions and enjoy a swim with a view of the city.

With cafés, bars and the Fishing Boat Harbour nearby, it’s a fun daytime visit.

Anchorage

  • Depth: 5–8m
  • Bottom: Sand
  • Protection: Good only in light easterlies
  • Hazards: Boat traffic, shallow patches, and exposed to the seabreeze

The seabreeze typically makes this anchorage uncomfortable by mid-afternoon.

Things to Do

  • Visit Little Creatures or Bathers Beach House
  • Watch the harbour traffic entering and leaving Fremantle Port

Notes for Cruisers
