Overview
Castle Rock Bay is a calm, protected anchorage east of Dunsborough. Famous for its granite headland and sheltered water, it’s one of the safest places to anchor in Geographe Bay during summer.
The bay provides postcard-perfect conditions for swimming and paddleboarding.
Anchorage
- Depth: 4–12m
- Bottom: Sand
- Protection: Excellent in E–SE; good in light SW
- Hazards: Swimmers and kayakers in peak season

Notes for Cruisers
Castle Rock often has better afternoon protection than Eagle Bay when the SW seabreeze fills in.
