Hakuna Matata is a beautifully kept classic yacht, built by Malabar Boatworks in 1996. She’s a traditional, well-built boat with plenty of character, and has clearly been cared for over the years.
She features a classic carvel-planked, round-bilge hull with a gaff-rigged sloop setup, finished with quality bronze fittings throughout. Strong, simple, and timeless.
Designed with local sailing in mind, Hakuna Matata easily passes under the Fremantle bridges under sail and is equally at home river racing or heading out for a coastal cruise. She handles comfortably in winds up to around 25–30 knots, making her a capable and confidence-inspiring boat.
The yacht is well equipped, with a slab-reefing mainsail, three jibs, an inboard engine, and a sweep for auxiliary power when needed. Everything is set up for practical, enjoyable sailing.
On deck, she offers a generous cockpit and a roomy cuddy, providing a comfortable and secure space for cruising and days out on the water.
