Hobie Getaway Catamaran 2017

This 2017 Hobie Getaway is an extremely rare find in Australia and is a fantastic catamaran for family and friends, comfortably carrying up to six people. It comes complete with a licensed trailer, beach launching roller, mast-raising jack, emergency pull-down ladders, and two built-in storage compartments.

The Getaway is very easy to handle, even single-handed. There’s no boom, so no risk of head knocks, and the bow sprit is perfect for stretching out and relaxing while underway. It’s fitted with outriggers, which make sailing more stable and comfortable—especially for those who prefer a smoother ride. The jib is on a furler, making it quick and simple to operate, and there are no centreboards, as they’re integrated into the hull design.

Despite its comfort and stability, this cat isn’t slow. I’ve had it sailing at 20+ knots. It has always been kept under cover and is in very good condition throughout. I’ve had some great times sailing it with family and friends and will be sad to see it go, but with other boats and yachts taking priority, it’s simply not getting the use it deserves.
