Savage Defiance

This genuine Savage-built Defiance 30, constructed in Williamstown, is a well-balanced yacht in good condition, set up for both club racing and comfortable overnight cruising on Western Port.

She features a recent fully battened Quantum mainsail and furling genoa in cruising laminate, along with an older No. 2, No. 3 and No. 4 jib, plus a large symmetrical spinnaker for light wind sailing. Deck hardware includes two Andersen ST40 stainless steel self-tailing primary winches and two cabin-top halyard winches. The mainsail is stored in a boom bag with lazy jacks, while the headsail is fitted to a furling system for easy handling.

Power is provided by a reliable 15hp Yanmar 2GM diesel with a reconditioned gearbox. Recent maintenance includes a Volvo dripless shaft seal, new cockpit drain hoses, seacocks and skin fittings, new cooling hoses, water strainer, thermostat, cleaned cooling ports, regular oil servicing, a new Spectra mainsail topping lift and new shroud chainplate bolts.
